Southern Ind. Community Marking 1960 Crash that killed 63
CANNELTON, IN - Memorial events are planed this weekend to recall the day 50 years ago when a plane plummeted nose first into a southern Indiana bean field, killing all 63 people onboard. A stone monument has long marked the site near the Ohio River town of Cannelton where a Northwest Airlines plane crashed in 1960 as it headed from Chicago to Miami.
Obama Prepares Education Overhaul
WASHINGTON (AP) - Instead of making sure students are proficient for their grade level, President Barack Obama wants to see states adopt standards to make sure students are ready for college or a career.
